BLESSED; AUSSIE BLACKSTAR

‘Aussie Blackstar’, the debut album release from the multifaceted and genre-bending musical artist BLESSED, is a sonically diverse and unique listening experience. The rockstar aesthetic revival through hip-hop is one that’s reached new heights in contemporary artists that nod to the attitude and stylings of their counter-genre predecessors. For BLESSED that translates to ultra sharp tailoring, dark luxurious materials and pops of red that represent a duality of love and anger. 

For his Aussie Blackstar performance at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Festival, BLESSED wears a traditional bespoke, silk velvet suit, handmade in Sydney by our master tailor Jay. The wrap suit features wide peak lapels with an asymmetrical button closure, paired with a handmade crepe rayon shirt, also made locally, along with Saint Laurent Wyatt boots. 

For the final act of his performance, BLESSED wears a tailor made houndstooth wool set, which if you were paying attention, is the same fabric as the Jody Just ‘Heart Inside Out Suit’.

Both looks are collaborative pieces between Umi Nori and Jody Just, a label which has been shooting and working with BLESSED over the years and coming together for this important moment.
